The Greyd Editor Helper is a set of tools in the Post Editor designed to improve your editing workflow. These tools provide visual aids, preview customization, and automated recovery of invalid blocks.
The Editor Helper tools are available in the Editor top bar, located between the View and Settings icons, displayed with an eye icon.

Note: The Greyd Editor Helper is only available in the Post Editor. The Site Editor does not support these tools.

Hover Helper
When editing content, it is not always obvious which element belongs to which block. The Hover Helper adds visual indicators on hover to identify blocks without selecting them.
- Show borders: Displays narrow border lines around certain blocks on hover to improve visual orientation.
- Show colored lines: Displays colored auxiliary lines around blocks when hovering.
The Hover Helper settings are saved in the current user’s meta data. Your setup will be applied whenever you edit any post; other users may have different configurations.
Customize Preview
Customize Preview lets you adjust the preview width and background color for the current post. This is useful when editing content that will be embedded in a specific layout, such as Dynamic Templates.
Note: This feature is not available for Pages. It can be used for Posts, Dynamic Templates, and other custom post types.
- Customize preview window: Enables the custom preview mode.
- Maximum width (Range Unit Control component): Sets the maximum width of the preview area.
- Background color: Sets the background color for the preview area.
A custom preview is saved only with the post where it is configured. Other posts of the same post type remain unaffected.
Restore Blocks
Restore Blocks provides Automatic Recursive Block Recovery with a single click. It fixes “broken” blocks that display the message This block contains unexpected or invalid content in the editor.

This issue typically occurs when block deprecations are incomplete or incorrect. While you can recover individual blocks using Attempt Block Recovery, Restore Blocks automates the process across the entire post.
When activated, it scans all blocks in the content for validation issues and runs Attempt Block Recovery programmatically on every broken block.
